The Danbury Drum Corps Wins Best Drum Corps in Lake George

For Immediate Release: June, 2025

Father’s Day weekend was one for the books as the Danbury Drum Corps marched their way to victory at the Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Association (HVVFA) Parade in Lake George, NY—earning the title of Best Drum Corps.

Members celebrating the win

The parade, held on Saturday, June 14th, brought together fire departments and marching units from across the region. Under a perfect summer sky and with Main Street lined with cheering crowds, the Danbury Drum Corps delivered a performance that was tight, proud, and full of energy. The win was not just a testament to our dedication and musicianship, but a celebration of our brotherhood and the traditions we carry forward.

But the parade was only part of what made the weekend special.

The Corps made the Blue Moon Hotel our home base for the trip, where camaraderie took center stage. Evenings were spent gathered around the campfire, swapping stories and toasting cold beverages. We started off the weekend playing some competitive cornhole, took dips in the pool to beat the early summer heat, and soaked in the laid-back energy that Lake George is famous for.

From exploring the charming downtown shops and restaurants to kicking back with good friends under the stars, the weekend was a perfect blend of celebration, tradition, and fun.

Winning Best Drum Corps is always an honor—but doing it surrounded by laughter, music, and memories makes it that much sweeter. Here's to the next one.
