Danbury Drum Corps Opens 2026 Parade Season with Victories in Pleasantville
The Danbury Drum Corps officially kicked off its 2026 parade season on Friday night with a strong performance at the annual Pleasantville, New York Fireman’s Parade, bringing home two prestigious awards: Best Drum Corps and Best Drum Major.
After months of winter rehearsals and preparation, Pleasantville marked the corps' first competitive parade appearance of the season. The awards serve as an early testament to the hard work, dedication, and musical excellence demonstrated by the members throughout the rehearsal season.
Winning Best Drum Corps recognizes the overall performance of the unit, while the Best Drum Major award highlights the leadership and professionalism that help drive the corps both on and off the parade route.
The corps now turns its attention to a busy June schedule, beginning with the Katonah Fire Department Parade in Katonah, New York on June 3. From there, members will travel north to one of the premier parade competitions in the Northeast, the Lake George Volunteer Firemen's Association Convention Parade on June 13.
As the organization continues its march toward celebrating 100 years of continuous service in 2027, every performance this season represents another chapter in the rich history of the Danbury Drum Corps.
